Saratov Conservatoire starts publications of archive materials
Three new books were published in Saratov Conservatoire last month:
1. From archives of Saratov State Conservatoire: Scientific and pedagogical heritage of Music Theory and Composition Department
2. From archives of Saratov State Conservatoire: Scientific and pedagogical heritage of Music Theory and Composition Department. L. Rudolf. Guide to the analysis of musical forms for Saratov Aleksey Conservatoire students. (Author’s addition: Saratov Aleksey Conservatoire was the first name of Saratov Conservatoire given by the Emperor Nicolay II in honor of his son Prince Aleksey)
3. Chamber music of modern Saratov composers: V. Mishlee, S. Polozov, I. Subbotin, V. Orlov.
The first book opens series of publications about history, scientific and pedagogical activity of Saratov Conservatoire Music Theory and Composition Department. The initial issue contains articles of teachers who founded the department: A. Dmitriev, Y. Evdokimov, I. Tyutmanov. Scientific heritage of the department is represented by works of teachers and music theory researchers B. Sosnovtsev, E. Vartanova, E. Lebedeva.
Most of the articles are published for the first time; they also provide information about the authors and some comments. Readers interested in Russian musical science and culture will no doubt appreciate this issue.
The second book is dedicated to life and creations of outstanding musicologist L. Rudolf.
The third book contains scores of modern Saratov composers that have never been published before.
